Event - Year 2 Go To Bishop's Wood

As part of our Science topic in Year 2 we have been learning all about plants and animals in our environment. We spent a day at Bishop's Wood Environmental Centre to investigate this.

We learnt some interesting facts about plants, such as how leaves are known as 'food factories' because of the amazing job they do.

We enjoyed learning about how animals build their homes and once we get back to school we will use all this information to help us build a home for a hedgehog as part of our Design and Technology project.

We used mirrors to take a 'walk in the tree tops', this was really fun. We were able to track the squirrels as they scampered through the trees searching for food.
