Event - Year 1 Trip to Hatton Country Park

July 2007

During July the two Year 1 classes went on a trip to Hatton Country World. We went by coach and when we arrived there were people waiting to take us around the farm.

First of all we went to an indoor area where the small farm animals were kept. We were allowed to feed the animals which included goats and sheep. After this we went into another area and were able to sit down and hold guinea pigs. This was lots of fun!

After we had washed our hands we went outside to where the other farm animals were kept. We walked around and our group leader told us lots of interesting information about them. We looked at these before going sheep racing. For this we had to pick a sheep that we thought would win. We went for 'Fleece Lightning' and cheered him on through the race. Our cheers must have worked because our sheep won!! We all got a badge to take home to show that we had picked the winner.

After this we went and panned for gold. As we did so well and found lots of gold we were given a medal to show how well we did. We then made our way over to the adventure playground where we had great fun on all the swings and climbing frames.

Then it was time for our tractor ride. It was very bumpy and we had to hold on tight but it was fun looking for all of the scarecrows around the farm.

As our tummies were rumbling we knew it must be time for lunch so we went into the eating area. Later on we went on the tractor park while some of us went to the gift shop. Then it was time to go home.

We were all worn out after doing so many things but had a fantastic time at the farm. We all wanted to go back again the next day!
